FAQ < Previous Page | Next page >

Why do you ask for donations?
It is very expensive to hold an International Goan Convention. The best authentic Goan cuisine will be served to delight your palates. The best talent from all over the world will be on the faculty and performing for you. You will have the best surroundings for meeting and socializing with your friends and opportunities for making new ones. The registration fee covers less than 20% of the cost of holding this Convention. The $199 registration fee for 4 days is way, way cheaper than most international conventions - Google the Net and you'll find most conventions charge $680+ for just 3 days, and all events are ticketed extra! More than 80% of the cost must be raised from the donations of generous Goan's and by other means. We do need donations to balance our budget. Please be assured that you will receive an official note stating the amount donated to GNAT for this convention.

Why is the registration fee set at this figure?
Actually, the registration fee meets less than 20% of the cost of the Convention. We have set very high standards for the delicious and authentic cuisine you will be enjoying. The great seminars, workshops, exhibitions and demonstrations along with the spectacular stage performances in the best venues (UTM as well as Downtown Toronto) will complete your Convention experience and stay in your memory.

What are the registration fees?
Fees are as follow in CD $:
Adults (13 and above): $199 per person if received before 31 March, $249 per person between 1 April and 30 June. $299 per person between 1-15 July.

What do my registration fees cover?
Your registration fees cover breakfast on the first day (Wednesday), 3 full lunches for the duration of the convention ( Wednesday, Thursday, Friday), the opening reception party on Wednesday night. All seminars, workshops and exhibitions, all seminar beverages, convention printed materials, the Souvenir, delegate gift packs. Your fees also include entrance to the Goan Idol (Thursday evening), and Viva Goa (Saturday). Your fees do not cover the superhit Tiatro (Fri), the Convention Ball (Saturday night), day trips, any ticketed items contracted to third-parties, e.g. the Grand Open Convention Ball, hotel accomodation & outside transportation

Why should I purchase medical/travel insurance?
As with all international travellers, it is extremely prudent to carry good travel cover when you go abroad. Medical insurance is a must, particularly in North America where a mere 1 day hospital stay can set you back $7,000! We strongly advise all visitors to the Convention to purchase medical insurance for your trip to Canada. If you are unable to obtain decent cover in your home country, very economical cover is available for Convention visitors through our Insurance Advisor Mr. Vivek Bhatt via 21st Century Insurance. Basic medical coverage of $10,000 for the Convention week, will cost you a mere approx $10! Consider larger coverage though. And do remember it is prudent to buy the cover before you enter Canada, as medical insurance always requires 72 hours to take effect. For a full rate-table, click here.
