Welcome to the homepage of the historic 2008 Goan International Mega-Convention to be hosted at the lovely Mississauga University of Toronto (UTM), from 23 - 27 July, 2008. Goa has been a fascinating secret for 5 centuries - a Latin enigma buried in the heart of Asia. Now for the first time Goa opens its doors to international vistors, scholars and groups as Goa stands at this critical cross- roads to re-examine its identity. This is an ideal opportunity for Goans all over the world to renew social contacts, and join our visitors to experience authentic Goan culture, music, cuisine, art, etc. Our mission is to host the greatest Goan Festival ever, provide fabulous hospitality, networking, an oustanding program and entertainment. Our theme is G.I.A.N.T.: 'Goan Identity And Networking Today.' We look forward to welcoming you here and for your continued participation and support. Come let us all work to make this wonderful Convention a great success. The 2008 Toronto International Goan Convention will be inaugurated on Wed., 23rd July by the Hon. NRI Commissioner / his representative, Government of India, in the presence of the Consul-General of India, the Indian Ambassador to Canada, and other dignitaries from both the Governments of Canada and India. We come together to rebirth the legacy of our motherland and God willing, build a truly wonderful international Goan centre abroad, dedicated to the preservation of our magical way of life.
